Sustainability Practices

How do we minimize our impact?

We are aware that every new product produced on the planet has an impact, and we want to take responsibility for it. Here are the ways that we try to minimize our impact, keeping in mind that sustainability is a learning journey, and we aim to keep improving.

1. With every collection we design, we partner with a different NGO and donate 5% of its sales to contribute to different causes, from institutions that help endangered species, to mindfulness and mental health programs. We choose to partner with local and small institutions that we know our help can make a little difference.

Vitanativa NGO

We partnered with Vitanativa NGO to support their new project to promote the conservation of the endangered chameleon , in Eastern Algarve coast, Portugal. By purchasing an item from our Tropical Impermanence collection, 5% of the sales go to Vitanativa.

2. Supplier Chain and Fabrics

Our fabrics are made with 100% sustainable materials. From certified organic cotton and linen, to recycled polyester. We also believe every piece should have a long lifespan, and we ensure and work with our partner factory to meet high-quality standards for our products to last for years and avoid the landfill as much as possible.

We only work with suppliers around the world that we can trust to have ethical practices and to provide safe work environments for their employees. Therefore we always choose partners that can provide BSCI Certification/ ISO and OCS.

We also, as a small business, only make small productions so we never end up with deadstock.

3. Packaging

Our packaging avoids plastic as much as possible. Not only in the packaging that goes directly to our clients but also from supplier to warehouse distribution. We always prefer using paper sourced packaging from certified sources, and if we use plastic we use recycled. (For example our cushion fillers have plastic around to compact for e-commerce purposes but it is recycled).
